Refunds and cancellations
Last updated October 18, 2026
What you can get back depends on how far along your order is. Part of what you pay goes to a newspaper or to the state, and once it has gone I cannot get it back. This page says where that line falls for each product. If you are not sure where your order stands, email me — karen@thehonestfounder.co — and I will tell you.
The annual report guide
The $19 Florida LLC Annual Report Guide is a download you get immediately.
- If the download does not arrive or the file will not open, reply to your receipt and I will send it again or refund you in full. That is not a time-limited offer.
- If you have read it and it was not what you needed, email me within 14 days and I will refund it. I would rather give back $19 than have you feel sold to.
DBA publication — $75 for most counties, $100 in Miami-Dade and select counties
What matters is whether I have submitted your notice to the newspaper yet.
- Before I submit it. Full refund, with nothing deducted. Email me and I will stop the order.
- After I submit it. No refund. I pay the newspaper at submission and that fee is not returned to me, and a notice that has published cannot be withdrawn.
- If it cannot be published at all. Full refund. That covers a county where no qualifying newspaper will take the notice, and it covers a mistake of mine.
- If the newspaper prints it incorrectly. I have it corrected and re-run, and I pay for that, not you.
LLC formation — $175
This one is built so that a name you cannot have costs you nothing. Your card is authorized at checkout, not charged. It is charged only once your name is settled.
- If none of your name choices is available and we cannot agree on one that is, I cancel the authorization. The hold is released and you are charged nothing at all. I do not take the money and refund it, because a refund would cost processing fees on work never delivered.
- Before I file: email me and I will cancel the authorization or refund the charge in full.
- After I file: the $125 state fee cannot come back — it is the Division of Corporations', paid at filing, and the state does not refund it. The $50 that is mine I will refund if the failure is mine.
- Optional add-ons — the $30 certified copy and the $5 certificate of status — are state fees passed through at cost and follow the same rule: refundable until ordered from the state, not after.
I’ve got you
$360 to start, then $249 each January. $390 to start in Miami-Dade and select counties, where the qualifying newspaper costs more.
You pay for the plan in two parts: the setup, and a charge each January. Each part has its own refund rule.
- The setup, before I file or submit anything: full refund.
- Once a step is done, what was paid out for it cannot come back: the $125 state fee once your LLC is filed, the newspaper's fee once your notice is submitted, and the $50 state fee once your fictitious name is registered. The rest of the setup price is mine, and I refund it if the failure is mine.
- Before a January charge: cancel by email and you are not charged again.
- After a January charge, before I file: full refund of that year's $249.
- After I file: the $138.75 state fee cannot come back, because the state does not refund it. The rest that is mine I will refund if the failure is mine.
- If you have not confirmed your details by April 1, I refund that year's $249 in full without your having to ask.
Websites sold outright
A one-off website sale is covered by its own written agreement. Once the files and domain have been transferred it is not refundable.
How to ask
Email karen@thehonestfounder.co with the email address you ordered with and roughly when. You do not need an order number. I answer within one business day, and refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within five to ten business days once I send them.
