Services
Publication, registration, formation, annual reports. What each one includes, what it costs, and which part of the price belongs to the state.
What I Do
Florida requires a fictitious name to be advertised once in a newspaper that qualifies under Chapter 50 in the county where you do business. I handle that end to end.
Not included: the $50 Sunbiz charges to register the name. That is paid by you, to the state.
Publication is the advertising step. Registration is the filing that records the name with the state. Most people need both, and ordering them together is one order instead of two.
Your LLC, filed with the Florida Division of Corporations. Florida keeps $125 of the price ($100 to file the Articles, $25 to record your registered agent). The remaining $50 is my service fee.
For Florida residents, or anyone who already has a registered agent. Every Florida LLC must name one at a Florida street address, and I do not offer an agent service yet.
Every Florida LLC must file an annual report between January 1 and May 1, every year, whether or not anything changed. I file yours on Sunbiz and pay the state’s fee. $138.75 of the price is the state’s.
Miss May 1 and Florida adds a mandatory $400 late fee on top of the filing fee — $538 in total, and for LLCs it cannot be waived.
A fictitious name registration lasts five years and has to be renewed by December 31 of the fifth year. I file the renewal on Sunbiz and pay the state’s fee. $50 of the price is the state’s.
Miss December 31 and the registration expires rather than renews. Getting the name back means a new registration and a new newspaper notice, the same as starting over.
Every Florida LLC files an annual report between January 1 and May 1, every year, whether or not anything changed. Miss it and the late fee is $400, with no exceptions.
*$100 in Miami-Dade and select counties, where the qualifying newspaper costs more. †$215 in those same counties. Every price here is what you pay me; where a state fee is inside it, I say how much. All prices on one page.
I’ve got you.
If this is a lot, hand it to me. I’ll form your LLC, publish and register your DBA, then file your annual report every January and your renewal when it’s due. $360 to start ($390 in Miami-Dade and select counties), then $249 each January, and you never track a Florida deadline again. Email me and I’ll walk you through it.
Or write to karen@thehonestfounder.co with the subject I’ve got you.
